Spring Collection of KAMIWAZA

KyoYuzenis Traditional Kimono’s design created in Kyoto 400 years ago.
It links deeply with four seasons in Japan. We selected 5 famous patterns for Spring.

花車 Hanaguruma

Hanagurumais the wagon decorated by flower on celebration.
Decorated by peony, symbol of wealth with wishes.

手毬 Temari

Playing with temari, ball winded with colorful threads was thought to dispel the evil.
Mother made temarifor her girl on March 3rd(hinamatsuri) and on her wedding.
Temariis “amulet” for girls.

藤 Fuji

Fuji , wisteria is Japanese traditional symbolic flower and often appeared in old books,
such as “Manyoshu” and “Makurano Soshi”.
Floriographyof Fuji (wisteria) Is “welcome” to tourists.

貝合わせ Kaiawase

Kaiawase, is Japanese old game.
Using one pair clam shells with beautiful pictures inside.
Riffle them and try to find pair shells.
As one clam shell can match with only its pair clam shell and they lives in clean water, it is symbol of good couple.

菖蒲にとんぼ Shobu&Tombo

Shobu (Iris) is the same pronunciation with
“勝負”“勝武”(Shobu) as they mean “win the battle”, Iris was loved very much by samurai. (Japaneaseknight).
Tombo(dragonfly) had also the same meaning because they flies very quickly and strong attacker to catch small insects. So loved also by samurai.
Iris and dragonfly is the design to win the battle for samurai.
